Current Position(s):

  •          Research Scientist (WOC), VASDHS

Personal Statement:

Dr. Onton specializes in EEG data analysis, having worked with high-density scalp arrays and advanced signal processing techniques to obtain EEG source activations from the data. She has worked on working memory and emotion in healthy volunteers, and she has conducted studies with military servicemembers and veterans to learn more about the EEG signatures of PTSD and TBI. Most recently she has focused on sleep EEG in the military veteran population and shown a deficiency of a particular aspect of deep sleep that she coined Lo Deep. She continues her work in this area to discover a safe and effective therapeutic to reverse Lo Deep deficiency.
