Personal Statement:
Dr. Ru Bryan, Ph.D. is investigating molecular mechanisms of pathogenesis of osteoarthritis and gouty inflammation with a focus on innate immunity, immune-metabolism and cell signaling. His lab is currently exploring the potential of modulating activity of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), a nutritional and metabolic energy sensor, as a therapeutic strategy for osteoarthritis and gout.
