The molecular biology core is an extension of the UCSD CFAR Molecular Core, and provides automated DNA sequencing, support for SAFE-based expression analysis, custom siRNA and ribozyme design and production, standard and custom lentriviral vectors (HIV-1, HIV-2, SIV), access to a library of plasmid constructs of interest to AIDS researchers, plasmid preparation services, and viral quantitation of HIV-2, SIV, and HHV-8/KSHV in laboratory and clinical samples. Also supplies additional utilities through its website.
