The Zeiss 10C has recently been equipped with a Gatan 785 11 megapixel digital camera. This unit comes with Digital Streaming Output wich allows for live feeds to investigators who cannot attend the microscopy sessions.
LASER CONFOCAL MICROSCOPE
The Zeiss LSM 510 has 2 lasers (Ar/Kr 488,568; HeNe2 633; 3 channels. This microscope is inverted and can hold plates as well as slides.
The Zeiss LSM5 Pascal has 2 lasers (Argon 458,488,514; HeNe1 543; 2 channels. This microscope is inverted and can hold slides and plates.
Confocal images can be further processed using Adobe Photoshop, Image-Pro Plus, LSM Image Browser and ImageJ software. Image analysis and three dimensional reconstructions can be done using 3D for LSM software.

ANCILLARY EQUIPMENT
The image processing/meeting room has the image processing computer with an attached flatbed scanner and B&W printer as well as knifemakers. There is a small library with protocol books that may be checked out.
